An allergy is an overreaction of the body to substances that most people are friendly. The most common in infants are caused by mites, certain foods cone milk or egg, or drugs. The symptoms are hives, swelling of the skin, digestive disorders such as diarrhea or vomiting, sneezing, and, in severe cases, breathing difficulties.
They are usually inherited, so if both parents are allergic, the chance that the baby is so is 80%, and if one parent is, in half. The skin or digestive allergies may disappear in the early years of the baby.
SKIN ALLERGIES:
The most common is atopic dermatitis, an inflammation of the skin causing intense itching, peeling and anxiety. Wings usually affects cheeks, chin, forehead and scalp and sometimes the outer face of the arms and legs. May appear in the first months.
DRUG ALLERGIES:
Certain chemicals in some medications can cause allergic reactions in children characterized by hives, swelling or difficulty breathing.
FOOD ALLERGY:
The most common is allergic to cow's milk. It causes diarrhea, vomiting or rash and in severe cases, difficulty breathing. Legumes, egg and fish also tend to cause allergic reactions, so its use should be delayed until the first birthday.
